HOME

My first long distance ride on my own bike - actually it's Joe's Honda Shadow Aero 1100 with Voyager wheels on the back!  These pictures are before the fenders were painted to match, as you can see in later pictures.

During this trip, we visited both our families: McCoy's vacationing in Pigeon Forge & the Holly's happened to be at Lincoln Memorial College to see my niece, Katelyn Holly, play varsity volleyball.  It was a great time for the trip!  Although it was October, so I got to experience riding in rainy & cold weather.  We stopped in Murfreesboro, Tennessee to see the rebuilt "Glacier Girl" P38 plane that was being rebuilt - it was one of the planes in WWII that were left and buried under the ice in Alaska.  We actually talked mom into posing on the trike!  She passed away in '05, but everyone in the family got a copy of Jo Ann on the trike!  I even talked Joe into going through Mammoth Caves!  That was a tough sell!

Going through Pall Mall, Tennessee, we just happened to stop at a store, and found ourselves across from Sgt. York's home!  Joe had a great time (he loves history) and  the man shaking his hand is Sgt. York's own son!  For the first trip out, we sure took in a lot of different sites.  I've been riding ever since!
